"It's definitely been a crazy year," says mc/singer Alpha Dawg who had, in the two years prior to 2007, been singing rock music. Naked Mom on the Lawn, or N.M.O.L. as many fans refer to them as, started in January of 2007 and have shown no signs of slowing down. Working their way up the ranks of the Dallas hip-hop scene, they have gone from opening the show as virtual unknowns to headlining slots at major Deep Ellum clubs and placing a close second at the Gorilla Productions: Battle of the Bands. Under the management of Adam Black, former co-CEO of Plex-Camp productions (Ackshon), the Naked Mom Boys are looking forward to 2008. "This is our year. We are gonna make some big things happen," says C. Veezy (who also works hard on his other project M.V.P.) . N.M.O.L. has already raised the eyebrows of Texas indie labels, E-World Ent. and Underdog Records. They have worked with known producers in the industry such as Erotic D (D.O.C., N.W.A. , Outkast, Blu Cantrell) and Goldfinger (Sony, Interscope), as well as; locally known producers Slowpoke, Bumtheary Productions, Trey Wagner of TW productions, Casey Clark, and D. Cates. What's next for N.M.O.L.? "We have already got a chokehold on Dallas. Our next goal is to take over Texas and then the world," says mc, JackRabbit James who was already a local player in the rap game before the group formed. These boys can touch on the deepest, most personal subjects and then jump into a wild slew of humor and party themed music. Their style is not easily compared to their contemporaries and all say, after seeing a show, that they witnessed a new experience in Texas Dirty-South Hip-Hop.
